Kodiak Jig Seafoods launches plan to promote jig-caught rockfish and Pacific cod

Kodiak Jig Seafoods, a partnership formed by the Alaska Jig Association and Alaska Marine Conservation Council, hopes to develop new markets for jig-caught Pacific cod, black rockfish and dusky rockfish, with a sales pitch that emphasizes quality, conservation and community.
Harvesters for Kodiak Jig Seafoods engage in short trips, live immersion bleeding and chilling in slush ice on board, producing exceptional quality seafood, the partnership promises in its brochure. Their catch can also be traced back to the boat and harvester who caught the fish.
