Preferred Location for Offshore Wind Research Array Selected in Gulf of Maine
Maine has found a preferred site for its proposed offshore wind research array located in an area of interest in the Gulf of Maine.
The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) said the site was chosen after assessing a number of factors including fisheries and wildlife, navigation, costs and more.
The research array was first announced by Maine Governor Janet Mills in January where Mills proposed actions to advance offshore wind in the state.
