Iceland’s Visir Stops Processing in Grindavik As Volcanic Eruption Threat Looms
Threats of volcanic eruptions in Iceland have forced Vísir ehf., a subsidiary of Síldarvällúnn hf., to halt fish processing at their facilities in Grindavik.
Iceland meteorologists reported 700 earthquakes on Tuesday, with an additional 800 earthquakes reported since midnight Wednesday. The threat of a volcanic eruption “remains high” as a result.
