Hokkaido Surimi Production Plummets 20% in September, a 13th Consecutive Monthly Decrease Y-O-Y
Frozen surimi production in Hokkaido is declining due to sluggish pollock catches. According to a member report compiled by the National Surimi Manufacturers Association, the production volume in September, including pollock and Atka mackerel, was 662 tons, down 20% from last year. Minato Shimbun reported that it was lower than the same month last year for 13 consecutive months.
