Japanese Shrimp Imports Fall 11.7% in February
The Japanese Ministry of Finance announced that shrimp imports in February fell 11.7% year-on-year to 12,570 tons, and the value was down 9.2% to 14,485 million yen ($133.5 million). Processed products such as sushi shrimp and shrimp for fried cooking saw the biggest decrease. The amount of frozen shrimp in another category, which includes farmed shrimp, also decreased.
