Continuing a More Than Century-old Tradition at the Fishermen's Memorial Service

A more than 125-year-old tradition will continue this Saturday when the Gloucester Fishermen's Memorial Service honors those lost at sea.
The community is invited to attend the annual service, which starts at 5 p.m. at the American Legion with a procession to the waterfront to Stacy Boulevard and the Fishermen's Memorial, which was erected 100 years ago. Many will carry flowers that will be tossed into the water for the tide to take out to sea, where many thousands of fishermen have died...
