New Bill Would Allow US Sturgeon Farmers to Operate Freely While Meeting ESA Standards

Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) reintroduced the Sturgeon Conservation and Sustainability Act, which aims to provide more flexibility to US sturgeon farmers to continue their operations, while also meeting the standards of the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
The bill would make a key clarification between the captive-bred sturgeon population, which is supported by fish farms and aquariums, and the wild population of the species.
