Mowi Loses 20,000 Fish in Faroe Island Farm Escape
A Mowi-owned fish pen in the Faroe Islands had 20,000 fish escape on Tuesday, per local.fo.
The escaped salmon were moved from another cage and were being prepped for slaughter, the outlet reported. However, the pen was damaged and that led to the escape.
Hans Jacobsen, CEO of Mowi’s Faroes sector, said the salmon were worth DKK 4 million (about $630,000 USD) and amounted to about a day’s worth of production. He also told local.fo that the holding pen damage was mended to prevent another escape...
