Tokyo Government Supports Resident Fishers’ Sales of MEL Seafood
In September, Tokyo will expand the sales channels for marine eco-label Japan (MEL Japan) certified marine products to promote fishing. Although postponed to next year, Japan will host the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, and the fisheries eco-label that certifies sustainable fisheries will draw attention. Therefore, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will identify restaurants and retail companies interested in certified seafood and match them with producers.
