New CEO comes to Long John Silver's as CEO as Mike Kern leaves
SEAFOODNEWS.COM [Undercurrent News] Sept. 10, 2014
Tom Seaman of Undercurrent News is the first one reporting that Mike Kern, CEO of Long John Silver's since 2011, is leaving. He was first replaced by Kevin Armstrong, who was formerly president and chief operating officer for LJS until 2002. But in subsequent developments, Seaman reports that Armstrong has left likely due to a difference of opinion with the owners of the Long John’s brand, LJS Partners, which is a consortium of investors and franchisees. Now former legal counsel Forrest Ragsdale is in as CEO.
Mike Kern said “I was honored to lead LJS the past three years in it’s transition from Yum! Brands back to a privately held company, as the US’s largest QSR seafood brand,” in an email to Undercurrent.
“I’ve now been in the seafood segment over 20 years and look forward to continue contributing to growing our industry’s share of the US foodservice market,” he wrote.
