Hokkaido Herring Fishery Opened Well, up 53% Year-On-Year at the End of January

As of the end of January, herring fishing along Hokkaido's Sea of Japan coast reached 498 tons, a 53% increase over the same period last year. Although it's still early in the season, it's off to a good start compared to last year.
