Ecuadorian Exports will Pay More than US$300 Million to Enter the US
Since August 7, 2025,the United States has applied a 15% tariff surcharge on Ecuadorian exports. The measure affects traditional products such as bananas, cocoa and shrimp, as well as non-traditional goods, including flowers, broccoli and processed tuna, among others. This reduces their competitiveness vis-à-vis countries with trade agreements. The measure will cost Ecuador more than US$300 million by the end of the year.
