Brazil: Fish Sector Asks for Emergency Reopening of European Market and R$ 900 Million in Credit
Abipesca (the Brazilian Fishing Industry Association) has fired off emergency requests to the federal government in an attempt to minimize the impacts already caused by the 50% surcharge announced by US President Donald Trump. The increase has not yet come into force, which is expected to happen from August 1st, but it has already served to paralyze the sale of products between US importers and Brazilian producers.
