‘Not Positive’: Norwegian Seafood Exports Down 5% in First Half of 2023

The Norwegian Seafood Council reported that seafood exports from Norway were down 5% through the first half of the year, a 75,000 metric ton decrease.
In total, the country exported 1.3 million MT of seafood and the Council cited export volume drops in herring, cod and salmon. The dip in volume was credited to challenging fishing conditions, reduced quotas and somewhat lower salmon production volume.
