China Enforcing New Regulations for Chilled Food Imports Following the Release of COVID Salmon Study
China’s customs agency is tightening up its surveillance of chilled food imports, according to the South China Morning Post. The new regulations come shortly after an academic study from South China Agricultural University and the Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences on coronavirus surviving on salmon went viral.
As SeafoodNews reported last week, researchers reported that the coronavirus can remain on chilled salmon and continue to be infectious for over a week.
