Japan’s Fisheries Agency Calls for 82% Cut to Pacific Sardine Catch by 2027 vs. 2025
Minato Shimbun reports that the Pacific stock of Japanese sardine, overfished by Japan, China, and Russia since 2023, is expected to see spawning biomass drop below the level needed for reproduction by 2025.
