Study: Lobstermen and Right Whales Could Benefit from Less Fishing
According to a new study from researchers at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute (WHOI) New England’s lobstermen could turn more profit by using less gear and working with a shorter season.
Findings also support a path to transition from pot fishing, using vertical lines that have been linked to North Atlantic right whale entanglements. The study was published in the journal Marine Policy.
