The Pickenpack Holding Germany plant in Luneburg will close its flagship plant on June 30, said the bankruptcy administrator. They will continue to seek a buyer for the Riepe plant.
According to a statement from Pickenpack insolvency administrator Friedrich von Kaltenborn-Stachau, of Hamburg law firm Boege Rohde Luebbehuesen (BRL), the “drastic steps” are necessary to find a buyer.
The closure will mean around 400 people lose their jobs.
Since the insolvency filing for Pickenpack in December last year, the administrator and Ernst & Young, brought in to run the sales process, have had discussions with many interested parties, including some international, said von Kaltenborn.
These include Greenland Seafood, Bregal Partners and also Orlando Management.
