OBI Seafoods, Peter Pan Seafood Awarded USDA Section 32 Salmon Contract

The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service put out a request in early February that it was seeking 1,139,999.976 cases of canned pink salmon. Now, the PCA Report has been released, revealing that two companies — OBI Seafoods and Peter Pan Seafood Company — received the Section 32 salmon contract.

Last month the USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service issued a new solicitation for CCC, or Commodity Credit Corporation Fish. The government agency has since awarded contracts to five companies. 

The CCC Fish bid, which opened on February 9, was seeking 173,599.908 cases of 24/7.5 oz canned red salmon and 148,959.804 cases of 24/14.75 oz canned red salmon. USDA Seeking 15.2 Million Pounds of Alaska Pollock

The USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service has issued a new solicitation for CCC fish. 

CCC, or Commodity Credit Corporation, is a government-owned and operated entity. CCC was created to “stabilize, support and protect farm income and prices.” According to the USDA it also helps “maintain balanced and adequate supplies and agricultural commodities and aids in their orderly distribution.

USDA Opens Purchase Request For Shrimp Products

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking to purchase shrimp products for use in domestic food distribution programs. 

According to the latest purchase request, the USDA is looking for a total of 388,500 cases. The USDA is seeking to purchase 199,500 cases of shrimp peeled and deveined 31-50. Another 94,500 cases are for shrimp peeled and deveined 51-70. Deliveries are to be made between March 16, 2024 and June 30, 2024.

USDA to Purchase Shrimp Under Agriculture Act of 1935

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced this week that they plan to purchase shrimp products under the authority of Section 32 of the Agriculture Act of 1935. The government agency noted that the purpose of the solicitation is “to encourage the domestic consumption of these products by diverting them from the normal channels of trade and commerce.”

Trident Seafoods and Channel Fish Processing both were awarded a contract for Alaska pollock by the USDA. The total dollar amount between the two companies is $1.75 million.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) invited offers to sell pollock products for use in the National School Lunch Program and other Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance Programs.

Trident Takes Home USDA Canned Salmon Bid

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) purchased canned salmon products from Trident Seafoods, according to its latest Purchase Award Description.

The USDA accepted Trident’s bid to purchase 16,720 cases of canned pink salmon products for $779,988. The product specifics were 24-count cases of 14.75-ounce cans.

USDA Announces Purchase Awards for $118 Million Worth of Pacific Seafood

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it has purchased groundfish, pacific seafood and salmon products under Section 32 that will be distributed to child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2023.

The USDA bought $118,778,972.96 worth of seafood products, which came to 4,742,500 cases of various items.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has purchased roughly 1.25 million pounds of Alaska pollock products for just over $3.675 million. The products will be used in child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for Fiscal Year 2023.

Last month the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released an open purchase request for wild salmon. Now, the winners of the contract have been announced.

Earlier this week the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released an open purchase request bid for a total of 405,000 pounds of wild salmon.

This week the USDA released an open purchase request bid invitation for catfish products.

According to the document, the USDA is seeking a total of 342,000 lbs of catfish fillets that are raw and unbreaded. They are also seeking 462,000 lbs of catfish strips that are breaded and oven ready.
