USDA Purchases Over 7 Million Pounds of Shrimp Worth More Than $32 Million
Last month the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced an open purchase request for shrimp products for use in domestic food distribution programs. The agency began accepting bids on January 19, with final bids due by January 29. Now, the purchase awards have been confirmed, with the USDA buying a total number of 388,500 cases worth $32,545,015.50 from eight participants.
