Wegman's has been long term partner with Uoriki Fresh to supply wild caught seafood for its sushi

Wegman's John Emerson describes in his blog the long term relationship Wegman's has built with the largest single buyer on Japan's Tsukiji Fish Market, Uoriki Fresh.
Since 2008 Uoriki Fresh has supplied Wegman's with wild-caught seafood used in sushi, including the Alaska salmon in Wegman's new wild rolls. He said, "We’ve worked with them to develop some innovative ingredients (like our imitation crabstick—the first of its kind) and our 'better than eel.' "
Carl Salamone, Wegmans Vice-President of Sustainable Seafood, said, Uoriki’s commitment to sustainability and quality is second to none. “They have the same goal of protecting our oceans. Like us, they understand it’s not an infinite resource.”
