F/V Auriga capsizes off Unakwik Inlet with 18,000 lbs of fish on board; good Samaritan rescues crew

A 40-foot fishing vessel homeported in Valdez capsized near Valdez on Aug. 5, I the vicinity of Unakwik Inlet, with some 18,000 pounds of fish on board, but a nearby good Samaritan fishing vessel - F/V Cornelia Marie - rescued the crew members from the vessel's skiff.
Coast Guard Sector Anchorage command center watchstanders said they received a report that the crew of the F/V Auriga was fishing near Eaglek Bay when a storm approached from the southeast.
The crew ceased fishing and prepared for the storm, but a large wave reportedly caused the Auriga to capsize...
