Sernapesca Cracks Down on Illegal Inland Fishing in Chile’s Los Ríos Region
Chile’s National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) received several complaints about illegal fishing in inland waters in the Los Ríos region, prompting nighttime surveillance in coordination with Carabineros (law enforcement) in the commune of Futrono, located on the northwest shore of Lake Ranco in southern Chile. The operation led to the detection of three groups of violators in different areas.
