Scallop Fishing Ban Lifts in North Queensland, but Southern Waters Remain Off Limits
Bundaberg fishmonger Paul Grunske has been importing scallops from Japan for the past four years, despite the famed Hervey Bay scallop habitat being just down the road.
He is not happy about it, but fishing for the small, sweet saucer scallops prized by celebrity chefs like Matt Moran and "Fast" Ed Halmagyi is illegal.
