Dozens of disgruntled fishers have journeyed through the streets of Perth to protest against the state government's decision to ban demersal fishing, as WA Premier Roger Cook confirmed he planned to meet with the industry.
The ban came into effect on January 1 along a large stretch of WA's coastline, from Kalbarri to Augusta, in a bid to save at-risk species like red emperor, dhufish and pink snapper.
