State Gives $1M to Make Union Wharf Upgrades
Fairhaven's Union Wharf is getting another injection of state funding to help with its yearslong reconstruction project.
On Jan. 7, the state's Seaport Economic Council awarded the town $1 million for bulkhead upgrades to the town-owned pier, which runs off Water Street and extends into the Acushnet River.
Fairhaven was one of 21 communities along the state's coast to receive grant funding from the council, announced at an event at the New England Boat Show in Boston on Wednesday, Jan. 7.
