Kroger to Lay Off 'Meaningful Number' of Workers in Cost-Savings Push
Kroger said it will conduct "a meaningful number of associate reductions" in a cost-savings push that comes as the company is closing underperforming stores and aiming to boost its profitability.
The job cuts will affect the grocer's U.S. administrative teams, Chief Executive Ron Sargent said in a memo to staff reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.
