Vietnam Tightens Tuna Import Checks to Meet 2025 IUU Card Removal Goal
Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has launched an inspection plan to control imported and transshipped tuna through container ports as part of its effort to remove the IUU “yellow card” and strengthen seafood traceability, local media reported.
The plan focuses on long pectoral fin tuna imported for domestic use, temporary import for re-export, or transshipment. Authorities require these shipments to have certified catch origin documents issued by exporting countries.
