Alaska House Passes Fishermen's Insurance Measure
One of the Joint Legislative Fisheries Task Force's priority bills moved ahead Friday, as the Alaska House passed a measure that would enable fishermen to form their own insurance cooperatives.
House Bill 116 would exempt the cooperatives from the state's traditional insurance code. The bill passed the House unanimously and heads to the Senate for consideration.
