Greater Demand in China Pushes Shrimp Prices Upward
China’s shrimp market has been bettering this spring, with the country’s full recovery from the pandemic and great demand. In late April, white shrimp prices, for example, have risen to high levels in the Pearl River Delta region, according to statistics from Agricultural Wealth. Their farm gate prices are 35 yuan/jin (1 jin=0.5 kilo) for those weighing about 40 shrimps/jin and 29 yuan/jin for the ones around 50 shrimps/jin.
