Chile’s Sernapesca Reports 2 Confirmed Cases of Avian Influenza in Sea Lions
Chile’s National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service, Sernapesca, has reported two confirmed cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in sea lions.
The first confirmed case of HPAI in a sea lion was found in Antofagasta in mid-February. The sea lion, an adult male weighing approximately 250 kilos, was stranded on El Huáscar Beach with respiratory problems.
