Coast Guard Leads Heroic Rescue of 13 from Sinking Fishing Vessel Off Virginia

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) and a pair of good Samaritan vessels rescued 13 people, including a child from a sinking commercial fishing vessel off the Virginia coast on October 28.
The F/V Tremont, collided with a 1000-foot Panamanian-flagged container vessel, MSC Rita and those aboard told the Coast Guard in a mayday call that the vessel was sinking with the 13 people aboard abandoning the ship.
