New Fishmeal Facility Opens at Port of Astoria's Industrial Park in Oregon
A new fishmeal facility has opened at the Port of Astoria’s Airport Industrial Park in Oregon. The facility is part of a joint venture between Scoular, Da Yang Seafood and Bornstein Seafoods to upcycle fish trimmings.
Da Yang and Bornstein both have processing facilities nearby. The companies plan on sending their fish trimmings to this new facility where they will be processed into fishmeal and fish oil, which are valuable ingredients in the pet food and aquaculture markets.
