Aquaculture Stewardship Council Certifies First Farm in Finland
Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) Rainbow trout farmer Fifax became the first in Finland to achieve Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification, the ASC announced on April 12.
Fifax’s farm is based in Åland, a group of islands in the Baltic Sea between the company’s two main markets, Finland and Sweden. Despite its land-based nature, the ASC noted that the location allows the company to use filtered water from the Baltic Sea.
