Sainsbury’s Becomes First in UK to Sell 100% ASC Certified Fresh Scottish Salmon
Sainsbury’s will be the first supermarket in the UK to have all of its fresh Scottish salmon range become independently certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC).
The retailer said that less than 5% of all salmon farms have achieved ASC certification. Farms have to take an independent audit in which they are assessed against a host of strict, science-based requirements to land certification.
