ANALYSIS: Is Ecuador Returning to China as Shrimp Prices Stagnant to Start 2022 in U.S.?

Ecuador shrimp exports to the United States in 2021 smashed the short lived record from the year prior. The 405.3 million pounds was 46.1 percent higher than 277.4 million pounds in 2020, which was significantly higher than the last high in 2014 of 203.5 million pounds. This represented nearly 22 percent of all shrimp exports from Ecuador.
