China Customs Agency Suspends Shrimp Imports From Ecuador and India as COVID Cases Rise
China’s General Administration of Customs (GACC) is taking emergency precautionary measures after sampling of seafood imports resulted in a positive test for the new coronavirus nucleic acid.
On March 17 the agency shared that 10 Ecuadorian companies were impacted by the precautionary measures due to positive sampling. The GACC looked at 18 batches of frozen vannamei shrimp imported from Ecuador and took 22 outer packaging samples and 1 inner packaging sample.
