JAPAN: October Seafood Exports Doubled In Frozen Yellowtail for the U.S.
According to trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the quantity of marine products exports (fish and shellfish and their preparations, and fish meal) in October decreased by 10% from the same month of the previous year to 39,083 tons, and the value increased by 29% to 23.3 billion yen ($205.81 million). Frozen scallops, yellowtail fillets, among others, exceeded the previous year's levels, but frozen mackerel fell below the last year's level, reported Minato Shimbun.
