Hearing Set for Gloucester Lobstermen Accused of Illegal Lobster Landings
Gloucester lobstermen James A. Santapaola Jr. is due in court on January 18 for a hearing related to his November 2 arrest by the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
As previously reported, Santapaola Jr. was arrested for illegally landing undersized lobsters. According to officers who were conducting the investigation, Santapaola’s 600 lb. catch included “dozens of undersized, oversized and illegally mutilated lobsters.” Environmental police discovered 28 undersized, 3 oversized and 16 illegally v-notched lobsters.
