NPFMC Adopts Groundbreaking Ecosystem Management Plan for Bering Sea
The latest regional council to adopt an ecosystem-oriented management plan is the North Pacific Fisheries Management Council for the Bering Sea. Ecosystem considerations while managing a single population of fish have become critical as fisheries habitats -- and the behavior of other species in that area -- change. The Bering Sea is one of the planet’s fastest changing habitats and one of its most productive for seafood.
