Euromonitor Says Fresh Fish Consumption Falling in Europe

Sales of fresh seafood are falling in Europe. In 2016, total regional sales were 5.8 million tons, a 1% decline from the prior year. Furthermore, over the last five years, Western Europe has seen an average decline of 1% per year, making it the worst performing region globally.
These were conclusions of Euromonitor. which produces statistical studies of fish consumption.

Western Europe is the third largest region for fresh seafood consumption, after Asia and Australia/New Zealand. The US ranks 6th.
