Tignish Small Craft Harbor Getting Major Improvements, One of 23

Some fishermen in western P.E.I. are hoping they will soon have direct access to their boats, without having to climb over other people's boats in order to get to their own.
Federal funding will be used to dredge and realign the channel, install shore protection, replace an existing wharf in the boat basin and construct a new marginal wharf.
In the last six years $2.4 million has been invested at the Tignish harbour. Major fisheries that operate out of the port include herring, lobster, snow crab, oyster and tuna.
