MSC’s Rogue Client Agrees to, then Withdraws from Binding Arbitration

Last Friday, Stefanie Moreland of Trident issued an update on the efforts of 20 Alaska seafood processors to join the client holding MSC’s Alaska Salmon Certificate, the Alaska Salmon Processors Association (ASPA).
The companies, representing 80% of Alaska’s salmon processing capacity, asked to join the client group last May. Their request was to share in the certificate, which covers all of Alaska's salmon fisheries, and included an offer to pay them for two year’s of certification costs.
ASPA refused.
