New Atlantic Sea Scallop Rules Announced by NMFS

Atlantic sea scallop fishing rules have just been changed. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NFMS) is announcing in the Federal Register of Tuesday, April 21, 2015 that new final rules will take effect in May for Framework 26. The rules are intended to prevent overfishing, improve management and protect sea turtles.
The rules set new catch limits based on updated information. It sets the overfishing limits at 38,061 metric tons for 2015 and 45,456 metric tons for 2016 for the Limited Access & Limited Access General Category Individual Fishing Quota Fleets...
