Gulf PUD Shrimp Market Sharply Lower in March with Inventories, Catches Higher in 2015

Market prices for Gulf of Mexico peeled and undeveined (PUD) shrimp are down sharply in March compared to last year with inventories well supplied from the fall's late increase in landings.
Last week Urner Barry's prices for the entire Wild, Gulf of Mexico Domestic PUD shrimp complex were adjusted down to 52-week lows. The average price for 61-70 count shrimp fell to $4.10 per pound are down 3.5 percent since the start of the year. Compared to 2014 the price is down $2.50, a 38 percent drop in value...
