Newfoundland Backs Out of Further CETA Talks In Dispute With Feds Over $400 Million Fisheries Fund

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is no longer participating in negotiations for any new international trade deals at the federal level.
According to Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Keith Hutchings, the province is also rejecting participation in the Canada-European free trade agreement, at least as it stands right now.
Despite a week of lobbying in Ottawa, the province remains deep in dispute with the feds over a $400-million fisheries fund...
