Alaska's new governor names Sam Cotten as acting Commissioner of Fish and Game

Two hours after he was sworn in as Alaska’s 11th governor, Bill Walker announced the appointments of three new cabinet members, including the head of Alaska’s Department of Fish and Game.
Sam Cotten of Eagle River, most recently a member of the North Pacific Fishery Management Council, was tapped as the “acting” head of Fish and Game until a permanent candidate can be found.
“The fact that Sam was named as ‘acting’ doesn’t take him off the list of permanent candidates we’re considering,” said Governor Walker, who narrowly defeated incumbent Sean Parnell last month...
