Industry Remembers Ocean Gold's founder Dennis Rydman, after memorial services

“I have never met a man who would exert more effort, could focus more intensely, or work more passionately than Dennis,” says Mike Okoniewski, Alaska Operations Manager for Pacific Seafoods Group. “Our fishing heritage was largely built by individuals of Dennis’ ilk and tenacity. Old school to the end and a dear friend to a great many.”
Memorial services for Dennis Rydman were held on Wednesday, November 12, in Aberdeen, Wa. Rydman, 65, died unexpectedly on Nov. 4.
Rydman was the co-founder along with Frances Miller, of Ocean Gold, a plant that now has the highest volume capacity for processing fish on the west coast. The company, owned by Rydman, Miller, and Pacific Seafoods Group, includes Ocean Cold, a cold storage facility; Ocean Protein, the only fish meal processing plant in Washington; and Ocean Express, the fleet of seven trucks and ten trailers delivering product throughout the west.
