Major shrimp farming areas in Andhra Pradesh escaped impact from the year's strongest tropical cyclone that hit the region's coastal areas near Visakhapatnam last Sunday evening
Cyclone Hudhud swept into the Andhra Pradesh region with winds clocking in at 115 mph. The storm's damages have been estimated at over US$1.60 billion in Andra Pradesh.
But according to Indian shrimp suppliers, the cyclone did not impact any of the region's major shrimp farming areas. Reports suggested some farms could have been affected, but there has been no major impact to Indian shrimp production ...
