Russian Sea buys more Chinese, Korean affiliated pollock companies, now by far largest quota holder

MOSCOW ITAR-TASS Roskoye More (Russian Sea Co,) has completed the acquisition of two Kamchatka fishing companies - "Imlan" Ltd. and "Pelagic". The amount of the transaction was not disclosed but sources close to the deal said it was in the range of $ 30-35 million. The acquired company will continue its operations as a part of the Far Eastern Division, "Russian Sea-Prey."
The deal will add quota allowances of 22 thousand. Tons, of which 16,700 tons is Alaska pollock. This means that the company's total Far East quota is now 233.3 thousand tons, of which 191 thousand are alaska pollock.
This makes Russian Sea second only to US based American Seafoods in its ownership of pollock quotas...
